You don't need to use the PIN if you are calling from the mobile phone you topped up, however you can also use the credit from any other phone (mobile or landline) by dialling the access number and typing in the pin code.

Your credit only expires if you don't top up for 3 months. Every time you top up, you extend your whole balance by a further 3 months. So provided you top up within the three month period then you don't loose your credit.
